Alex Wilkinson, Founder & PrincipalMy first experience in public service was organizing students from Minnesota to live with black families in rural Georgia, helping them register to vote during the summer when the Voting Rights Act was passed. I learned much about the ravages of poverty, the burdens of discrimination, human resilience - and myself - during that memorable summer.
Since then, learning and doing have energized my career. I earned a PhD in human development with emphasis on statistical modeling, taught for a decade on University faculties, was awarded patents as a software engineer, and worked extensively as a volunteer, employee, and consultant for non-profits in human services and education. Along the way, I have seen how poorly many non-profits and educational institutions support financial planning for their employees. Using my statistical training, psychology degree, and software expertise, I've analyzed market data from 1871 and used research on human decision-making to develop apps for able2pay.com. I am an avid reader of academic work on financial planning and economics, and continue to give back to under-served communities with pro bono work in education and legal services. |
